Well, it has officially been a full month of furlough from work, we've been staying at home for two months, and I've binge-watched six of my favorite shows from middle school and high school on Disney+, but this quarantine has not gotten the best of us yet!
Alright, so I'm sleeping in way later than normal, but I think I deserved a little me-time in the midst of all of this chaos. I always take on way too many projects at once, but I love keeping busy.
My new book, "The Way the World Changed," is due to be released next week. We were hoping to release it a little sooner, but life got in the way. My friend and artist, Ashlynn Lilly, worked extremely hard to finish all of the illustrations, and now we're just in the final stages of formatting the book before it's ready to be released to the public!
I'm also in my eighth week of ten in my current class for my Master's program, which means that I've been keeping busy with homework and readings as well. All of this work will be completely worth it when I finally get the degree that I've wanted for so many years. A few days ago, it was actually the five year anniversary of my college graduation from SUNY New Paltz, and it's crazy to think that it has been that long. I'm only taking one class at a time for my Master's, since I also work full time now and have lot more going on, but I'm okay with taking things slowly. Alright, alright, you got me... I'm taking two classes during the summer session. Part of me is excited to jump ahead a tiny bit, but part of me is freaking out because I'll need to do a much better job of managing my time now. Wish me luck!
Tomorrow, I'm also sending out the first batch of keychains for my keychain adoption fundraiser. They look so beautiful and I can't wait for everyone to receive them. It has been such a blessing to have support from friends and family as I move forward with this adoption process.
Now that life is slowly getting back to normal, I'm finally going to schedule the last few pieces of my home study. One of these pieces includes the actual visit to my house, to see what it looks like and make sure it's a safe environment, so that's a huge step. I feel like once that part is done, I'll feel like this is even more real.
Alright, well I do need to finish up some homework tonight, so I'll leave it at that. Hopefully in just a few days I'll be back to discuss the release of my new book, so stay tuned!
Thanks for reading!
