Life as a Writer, Disney World Cast Member, and
Big Sister through Foster Care & Adoption
Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Day three and I think I'm almost through with being sick... thank goodness!
There was a lot more sleep today, plenty more water, and quite the pounding headache! Unfortunately after my fever ended, I got this weird feeling in my head that made me feel like it was going to explode. Picture the feeling you get when your ears get clogged going up a mountain and they need to pop, except they won't pop. I've been feeling like that for the past five hours at least.
The good news is that other than the headache, I really have been feeling better since I woke up this afternoon. Sadly, I still needed to sleep for most of the day before I started to feel well though. This morning I received a phone call asking if I wanted to pick up an extra shift at work but I had to turn it down. It does make me realize just how much I love my job when I'm sick and can't go to work.
The good news was that I was able to get a little bit of writing done tonight at least. I was cold so I snuggled up in bed with my dog and figured I could look at my novel. Sure, the headache prevented me from accomplishing a lot, but I did manage to get a few paragraphs written and that was good enough for me. Any day when you're able to write even just a few words is a productive day, after all.
Now I'm just hoping that I'll be well enough tomorrow to get up, get dressed, and drive the car... Tomorrow night is Chinese Food night, and there's no way I'm going through a week where I have to call into work sick and miss out on getting Chinese food!
Your continued support means the world to me. From foster care to novels, and family to work experiences, I look forward to sharing more of my life with you each day. Don't hesitate to share your own stories with me or ask me questions about my life. Please don't forget to like and share my Facebook author page as well!
I’d greatly appreciate it if you would share this blog with friends and family through your favorite social media sites. If you’re sharing on Twitter, don’t forget to tag me (@TayTayK02) and use the hashtag #TaylorTalks.
My family has been doing foster care since I was three years old. I'm the only biological child in my family, though I now have five permanent siblings. Having nineteen siblings over the course of my lifetime has been an incredible experience, and I'm hoping that by sharing some of the ups and downs of being the only bio kid in a foster family, other foster families or people looking into doing foster care will be able to learn a bit of what life can be like. I also like to share what life is like on my journey to becoming a published author, as well as where my schooling and career choice are taking me.
