Today, my mom's uncle came to visit again, this time with his daughter. Since yesterday was his birthday, we were all excited to see him and make him feel special.

Coming from the background that I come from, in which I've had so many siblings from so many different backgrounds of their own, I know that life can be rough. I think that I do a pretty good job of trying not to judge people on actions or behaviors at first, because you never know what their story is. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Did you know that some kids are considered "hard to place" in the foster care system? I don't know what just made me think of it, but I wanted to touch on this subject because I feel like I've been talking about a lot aside from foster care lately. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!

Do you remember celebrating Valentine's Day as a kid? Today was my sisters' class party at school, and it got me thinking about the way Valentine's celebrations differ now from when I was in elementary school. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Today at work, I was talking with a fellow Cast Member and a funny memory came up of my little sisters. Since it's extremely late and I'm tired after just getting out of work, I thought I would just share that memory here tonight. It works out well because today was the anniversary of Twin B coming home from the hospital and joining the family (after Twin A came home a week earlier), so the two memories kind of go hand in hand. I feel like the majority of the time I write about positive experiences in my life... my family, foster care, my job at the Happiest Place on Earth... so I'm entitled to complain every once in a while, right? |
About
My family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.
I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life. I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day. I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well.
