Today was the day of the craft fair I was participating in. Unfortunately, I didn’t sell anything there. I was so excited, and brought my sister along to help out, but no one bought anything from us. Well, that was a bust.

Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Today has been a long day, and it’s not even through yet… I’ve been baking since right after I ate breakfast this morning! I absolutely love baking, and it’s one of my favorite thing to do, but it still wears me out by the end of the day. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
For those of you wondering, yes, I did manage to finish my essay on time to hand it in this morning!! It took forever (alright, not forever, but at least five hours) to finish it, and I was completely exhausted this morning because I got to bed so late, but it’s finished. I actually think it even came out pretty well, surprisingly! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Tonight’s post will be very brief. I am a complete idiot sometimes. There, I said it…. I’m sure we can all admit that at some point or another. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Well, we’re coming upon the midpoint of the semester at my school, and I can’t believe that half of a semester is already gone. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Today, I finally found out all of the information that I needed in order to become certified to be a teacher. I feel so much better knowing exactly what is required of me for the rest of the year. Now all I need to do is actually follow through with everything! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Today was a long, exhausting, amazing day! My Godfather’s family came up to visit and we all went out to an Applefest almost an hour from my house. It’s a festival with street vendors and food and live music, and it’s a really nice area to walk around. This is something that we used to go to each year when my Godfather’s sons and I were really little, but we haven’t gotten to go in a long time. It was so great to spend time with everyone and get out for the day. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
One of my favorite hobbies is baking! I absolutely love to bake, and always enjoy trying out new recipes. A few months ago, I was asked to make a smash cake for a first birthday party that will be coming up in two weeks. The child has some allergies, not too different from my little sisters, so I decided to tweak a recipe that I have for them to make this birthday cake. I wanted to try it out ahead of time, to make sure that it came out well, so I had the opportunity to bake a little after dinner. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Well, from the beginning, my littlest sister’s foster care case has been kind of odd. First of all, it started out as a temporary placement, but then she ended up staying for months, and we don’t know how her case will end. We haven’t been given a lot of information about her situation, so we don’t really know what’s going on. Instead of having bi-weekly visits, she’s been having weekly visits. Now, the caseworker is talking about going up to two visits each week. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Last week, I talked a little about the visits that all foster children go on, and mentioned how the bi-weekly or weekly visits can become weekend visits right before a child is given back to their biological parents at the end of their time in foster care. Usually, when these weekend visits start to happen, it does mean that the child will be going home shortly after that, and these visits are just a step closer to the child and parents being reunited for good. However, sometimes the weekend visits prove that the parents are not capable of having their children back, and the process turns around. |
About![]() My family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.
I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life. I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day. I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well.
