Over the course of my lifetime, when people first hear about how my family lives our lives, many say how blessed these children are to have my parents caring for them. And true, I think that my parents are incredible people and go above and beyond for all of my nineteen siblings. But the truth is that we are blessed to have these children in our lives.

Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Today was my last day of fieldwork! I can’t believe how quickly these ten weeks have flown by. It has been a great experience overall, and I’ll definitely miss going back to this sixth grade classroom every week. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
It’s been a very crazy day, so I thought I would just share something simple tonight… Here’s a writing that I did about my younger brother for a creative writing class. Welcome back to Taylor Talks.
I remember this one time when I had to say good bye to a foster sibling, and it was a little different than other farewells I had made in the past. I was in fifth grade, and we had a baby staying with us, maybe a few months old. He hadn’t been with us for an extremely long time, and was going to be living with a family member after leaving our home, if I remember correctly. Even though he hadn’t been with us for a very long time, I was still pretty attached to my baby brother. It’s hard not to fall in love with a little baby. Welcome back to Taylor Talks.
Tonight is one of those nights when I don’t really feel like writing, but I push myself to do it anyway because I don’t want to miss a night. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
I’m babysitting tonight, but luckily the job has been super easy. With a family this big, my parents have always had a rule since I’ve been old enough to babysit. If they need to do something, then I just have to suck it up and take on my big sister responsibilities. If they want to go out and have fun, then they’ll pay me like a regular babysitter. Just when I think nothing interesting ever happens in my life, something completely out of the ordinary happens once again. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
I think my life is interesting. I really do. I mean, I don’t know anyone else who has had nineteen siblings, so I’d say my life is definitely unusual. But on a daily basis, the small stuff that everyone goes through? My life really isn’t anything big deal. But you wouldn’t believe the number of times people have told me and my parents that we should do a reality show. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Today, I thought I’d share a little writing I did about my sister. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
I’ve been talking about my siblings’ adoptions lately, and I thought I’d stick with that subject a while longer. |
AboutMy family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.
I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life. I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day. I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well. Find my children's books on Amazon and keep following my blog for updates on future books that I'll be releasing! Archives
