Today was a day where I actually accomplished a lot of work on one of my children's books!
I also accomplished more with the illustrations than I thought that I would. My little sisters were so excited when they came into my room and saw me drawing... they told me that they love to watch me draw! It was adorable. They also told me that I was great at drawing, which gave me a little confidence boost. Sure, it may have been coming from a couple of six-year-olds, but it was still really sweet.
Anyway, I took a long time to figure out how I wanted a certain character to look, but I was really happy with the end result. The first character I worked on today was pretty easy. It may have taken a while to get it drawn out perfectly, but I knew exactly where I wanted to go with it. The second character just couldn't appear in my mind as easily, which is why it took so much longer to draw. I kept going back and forth with it, drawing and erasing, drawing and erasing. There's quite a lot of eraser shavings in my garbage can! But in the end, I thought that it looked really good, and I was extremely happy with how it came out.
I'm excited to continue working on this book. It's going to be a cute children's book, but educational as well. It will become something that I hope kids would enjoy in a classroom or at home. I can't wait to see how it turns out in the end!
