My mom and I were talking last night about possible topics to cover in blog posts. I created this whole list of things that I want to talk about at some point, because some nights I'm just not sure what I want to cover. So tonight, I thought I would take something from that list, and talk about when a child is first placed in your home.

Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
The other day, my brother started asking my mom all sorts of questions about all of the foster kids that we've taken in. I have no idea what brought up the topic, or why he was suddenly so interested, but the conversation went on for quite a while. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
When you have a family that's made up of adopted children, family history can be a difficult thing. You all come from different backgrounds, and everyone's genetic make-up is very different. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
You'll have to bear with me as I reference television and Broadway again tonight. I know that I just talked about the Tony Awards last night, but tonight I actually have a connection to my daily life, I promise! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
I had to dedicate tonight's post to one of my favorite nights of the year... the Tony Awards! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
At the end of the day, when it was almost bedtime for my sisters, I was sitting outside watching the girls play on the deck. I told them that they had fifteen minutes before they had to brush their teeth, but since we were waiting for my mom to get home from running to a friend's house anyway, I was a pushover and let them play for quite a while. It was quite enjoyable for me to watch them. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
As you may know, last month I worked on writing a guest post for another foster care/adoption blog. Today, it was posted for everyone to read! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
I'm not sure if I've discussed it before, but I'm the kind of girl who needs to watch her weight. Unfortunately, I don't have the type of body that will let me eat a bag of mini Reece's and not suffer the consequences. |
AboutMy family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.
I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life. I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day. I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well. Find my children's books on Amazon and keep following my blog for updates on future books that I'll be releasing! Archives
