I’d like to start off with an update… after a temperature of 104.2 at 2am, my little sister seems like she’s now on the road to recovery. Both twins appear to be happier today and have been drinking plenty of fluids, and they even played together for a little while today. I’m feeling much better too, though my mom and I are still a bit sleep-deprived after being up at 2am trying to give my little sister a cold bath to bring down the fever. My mom continues to do medications for both girls every few hours, so I don’t know when she’ll be able to get a full night’s sleep. But here’s hoping that the start of the new year will bring better health for everyone!

I’m not sick! I swear! Okay, maybe a little bit… ugh, this is horrible timing! The twin that was in the hospital is still recovering (though feeling much better, she still needs medications every few hours), and the other twin still has a fever that keeps bouncing up and down. I can’t be sick right now! There’s a lot to do around here! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
I hope you’ll forgive me, but I’m still exhausted from the hospital stay, sick twins, sleeping on a floor for two nights, and the chaos that we came home to. I’m hoping to be back to regular blog posts within a day or two. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
You want the good news first, or the bad news? I feel like people usually want the good news first so I’ll start with that. Good news: we were finally able to bring my sister home from the hospital early this evening. She’s going to be on lots of medication for the next few days and will need follow-up visits with our pediatrician and the hospital, but she should be just fine. Thanks for all of the good thoughts and prayers! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
It’s night two here at the hospital, and my poor little sister is still not back to normal. It’s been a long day and night, and we’re hoping that she’ll be released tomorrow morning. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Tonight’s post is going to be brief because it’s been a very long day. My mom, one of my five-year-old sisters, and I have been at the “hostible” (as my sister calls it) since about 12:30pm. My sister was pretty sick over the past few days, and it has only gotten worse. Her oxygen levels aren’t stable, and her asthma was acting up, so she was admitted to the hospital overnight to be monitored. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Merry Christmas everyone! It has been a wonderful day here at our house, and I hope it has been the same for all of you! We were very lucky today… we didn’t need to take my sister to the hospital, thank goodness! She’s had a fever on and off, and she still has a cough, but the medicine is working beautifully and she was absolutely fine today. My mom is taking her back to the doctor tomorrow morning to follow-up and see if there’s anything else that we need to do for her, but as of right now, she’s doing well. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
It’s Christmas Eve, and that means that there’s a lot to do for Santa’s big arrival tonight. As Number One Elf in the family, I have a very important job helping to make Christmas special each year, and this year more than ever. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
First off, Happy Hanukkah! It’s the last night of the holiday, and I hope everyone has had a wonderful celebration! Tonight, I thought I would share a very special memory from when my brother first came to live with us. He came when he was four years old, and he arrived just days before Christmas. Like a special Christmas present. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Growing up in a family where there are always little kids around can certainly provide a lot of laughs. With each kid that lives with us, no matter how long they stay, we learn to see things in new and exciting ways. The way little kids speak is always amusing, as anyone who has been in the presence of a small child can surely attest to. |
