Accepting the Position

Welcome back to Taylor Talks!

Well, I did it... I officially accepted my position at Disney World!! I can't believe it!
I had to wait a while after being offered the position to actually accept the job. I was told that the email with my instructions would probably come in November, but quite to my surprise, I received it tonight! All I had to do was click on the link, accept my position, and submit... I'm a Disney Cast Member!

Now, I still have to go fill out paperwork and whatnot before having my orientation, but I'm well on my way to working at my dream job! It's still such a shock every time I think about the fact that I'm going to be working at Disney. I mean, Disney World is my favorite place in the whole world. I can still vividly remember my very first trip there when I was six years old, and you have to be a Disney fanatic if you get a trip to Magic Kingdom for your college graduation present. I never would have imagined being able to work for Disney while we lived in New York, but after we knew we were moving to Florida, I knew that working at the "Happiest Place on Earth" was my biggest goal.

It doesn't seem real that almost a full month has passed since I interviewed at the Casting Center, and I don't know how I've made it this long without bursting from anticipation and excitement... the next few weeks are going to make me crazy as the rest of the hiring process continues before I actually begin work. I think my biggest goal as I embark on this new adventure is to rein in my emotions a tad bit; I literally burst into tears every time I get into the Disney area and start seeing signs for the different parks. I don't think that Cast Members are supposed to cry from excitement throughout their shifts! But in all seriousness, I am thrilled for this opportunity and cannot wait to become a Cast Member.

I'm already looking into finding more information about working at Disney World and making sure that I know as much about Disney as possible... although I don't know how I remember any other information with so many random Disney facts and songs floating around my mind 24/7! Still, I know that there's so much more for me to learn about the parks themselves and I can't wait to begin training for my job. Let the countdown begin!

Thank you so much for your continued support! I look forward to sharing more stories about my experience with foster care, and hopefully hearing from readers who have questions or similar stories to share. I'm always willing to answer questions and hear about other experiences! Please don't forget to like and share my Facebook author page as well!

I’d greatly appreciate it if you would share this blog with friends and family through your favorite social media sites. If you’re sharing on Twitter, don’t forget to tag me (@TayTayK02) and use the hashtag #TaylorTalks.

Thanks!
Taylor

    About

    Picture
My family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.

I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life.

I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day.

I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well. Find my children's books on Amazon and keep following my blog for updates on future books that I'll be releasing!
