Life as a Writer, Disney World Cast Member, and
Big Sister through Foster Care & Adoption
Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Our house is in chaos… My dad and a friend from work are fixing our back bathroom, and it’s just crazy here.
Our back bathroom was gutted, and boxes holding tons of stuff were just sitting in the bathroom. Now those boxes are all over the house, in addition to tons of tools and plumbing parts. My dad and his friend, both plumbers, have been in and out all day, running to stores, into the bathroom, and doing work out back under the house. It’s insane, and I can’t wait until the bathroom is fixed and we have two bathrooms again.
This bathroom was actually gutted shortly after Hurricane Irene (three years ago) and then the contractor who was fixing our house took off with my parents’ money. So that bathroom has just been sitting there, unusable, until my dad has been able to work on it. Having nine people using one bathroom has been quite the experience, let me tell you. Especially with little sisters who have gone through potty training during this time. I don’t know how we’ve been able to do this, but I’m really looking forward to having the use of our second bathroom again.
Have you ever faced an obnoxious problem like this at home? Tell me about it in the comments!

My family has been doing foster care since I was three years old. I'm the only biological child in my family, though I now have five permanent siblings. Having nineteen siblings over the course of my lifetime has been an incredible experience, and I'm hoping that by sharing some of the ups and downs of being the only bio kid in a foster family, other foster families or people looking into doing foster care will be able to learn a bit of what life can be like. I also like to share what life is like on my journey to becoming a published author, as well as where my schooling and career choice are taking me.
