Is this not a gorgeous rainbow? My dad came home from work today and the rain was just clearing up. He asked my mom and me if we had seen the rainbow and pointed it out. I'm pretty sure it was the first rainbow we've seen since we got here. It was so clear right behind our house, and it brought a smile to my face. It rains every day here during the summer, but this was the first time that it ended in such a beautiful display.

We're having a much more low-key night compared to last night's craziness... unless you count Twin A's sudden bout of the giggles after we went out to dinner. That was, as Twin B has taken to saying, a "bit" silly. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
I feel like the house is really starting to come together now! My parents' new bedroom furniture was delivered today, so all of the bedrooms are looking more complete. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Today, our storage pods were delivered! As excited as we were for all of our stuff to arrive, we didn't even unload the pod with the furniture in it. We completely unloaded the pod with all of our boxes though, and boy did that wipe us out! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Tonight, I want to dedicate a very special post to one of the greatest men I've ever known: my grandpa. Today marks the sixteenth anniversary of his death, and on days like today, I enjoy remembering the special memories we had together. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
I had to dedicate tonight's post to one of my favorite nights of the year... the Tony Awards! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
It's finally May, and the kids in my kindergarten classes couldn't be happier! Their excitement is pretty contagious, and I'm really happy that it's May as well. Although, to be honest, that also might have something to do with the fact that it's officially the month I graduate college now! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Tonight, I'd like to take a little stroll down Memory Lane, but first, I have a personal message to share. For the rest of you readers, I hope you'll bear with me for a moment as I address an email that I received through my Contact page last night. To BBJ: I can't thank you enough for the kind words about my blog. It truly meant so much to me to receive your message. Unfortunately, when I tried to email you back, I realized that the email address you had provided was indeed a fake; there was no other way for me to reach you than to write here and hope that you visited my site again tonight. It was important to me to be able to say thank you for reaching out. Though you tried to remain anonymous with the made up name, deep down I think that I'm right in guessing that we both knew that I would figure out your identity. If I'm correct, then I think you'll understand my message tonight; if not, then thank you to the anonymous reader who just reached out to wish me well. If you are indeed who I believe you to be, however, then I want to leave you with this... I've meant every word that I've written in this blog, and if you're following my daily posts, then that gives me hope. What you wrote to me was true; everything does happen for a reason. Sometimes, however, that reason is simply that we made a wrong choice in life, and though it's hard to admit and to ask for forgiveness, that's what we must do in order to move on and be happy in life. It's okay if you've chosen the wrong path for a while; we all make mistakes, but it's important to learn from those mistakes and get back on the right path in life. Remember the old running joke about being lost for a few years at the beginning of life? It happens... maybe you just got lost again. That's okay. Look at how much the future holds, if you'll just let yourself be found again. I'm always here, waiting for you to open up. If you reach out to me again, I'll be ready and willing to help you navigate this chaotic mess we call life. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Tonight's post is inspired by the series finale of one of my favorite television shows, Glee, which just went off air about an hour ago, so stop reading if you haven't had the chance to watch the finale yet... come back after you reminisce with the New Directions. The show was on for six years, premiering its pilot episode back in May 2009. For its finale, the show tugged at the heartstrings of "Gleeks" everywhere by showing the progression of how far the characters have come since that first episode (and flashing back to the amazing "Don't Stop Believin'" musical number from the pilot featuring the late Cory Monteith -- cue the tears here). Glee's look back at six years ago made me think about how much has changed in my own life since that time, and I realized just how much can happen in six seemingly short years. I believe I mentioned a while ago that my family is moving to Florida in less than six months. Time passes so quickly, and it seems like we just started discussing the possibility of moving, yet we've actually been planning this for two years now. |
AboutMy family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.
I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life. I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day. I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well. Find my children's books on Amazon and keep following my blog for updates on future books that I'll be releasing! Archives
