Life as a Writer, Disney World Cast Member, and
Big Sister through Foster Care & Adoption
Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Today, I thought I’d share a silly tradition we have in our family. We have Chinese Food Fridays in our house. Every week on Friday, we get Chinese food for dinner from our favorite place in town. We get the same food almost every week, because we all have our favorite dishes. We get a few different things and then everyone shares the meals.
Everyone looks forward to our little tradition each week. Even my little sisters ask if it’s Friday each day, because they love when they have a chance to take the ride with me to pick up the food. It may seem like a silly tradition, but it’s something nice that my family can enjoy every week.
Fridays are a time to unwind from the week and relax, so our Chinese Food Fridays give my mom a break from cooking, and the whole family has the opportunity to enjoy a special treat. This tradition was something that I really missed when I was living at school, so I’m glad that I’ll be able to participate again this year.
Do you have a fun tradition with your family? Let me know in the comments!

My family has been doing foster care since I was three years old. I'm the only biological child in my family, though I now have five permanent siblings. Having nineteen siblings over the course of my lifetime has been an incredible experience, and I'm hoping that by sharing some of the ups and downs of being the only bio kid in a foster family, other foster families or people looking into doing foster care will be able to learn a bit of what life can be like. I also like to share what life is like on my journey to becoming a published author, as well as where my schooling and career choice are taking me.
