Daddy

Welcome back to Taylor Talks!

Last month, I shared a post in which I talked about the header at the top of my Twitter page (@TayTayK02). My header consists of a paragraph that I wrote about myself in an exercise for my creative writing class in my sophomore year of college. I wrote a paragraph about each of my family members, and today, I thought I would share what I wrote about my dad.

The door bursts open, and in he walks. He puts down his bags and yells, “hi family!” Everyone has been waiting for him. He bends down and scoops up one baby, then the other, while dogs dance at his feet. He is tackled from every angle by kids anxious for a hug. Happy children start telling stories that no one can understand since everyone is talking at once. He finally gets to put everyone down and kiss my mom hello. He’s been gone for a while, and it’s so good to have him back. That’s the family man – my dad.

My dad is an incredible man; he has to be to have been taking care of such a crazy family for so long. For so many reasons, my dad is my hero. I look up to him in every way possible, and cannot imagine what I did in order to be blessed with such an incredible man to call my daddy. I am so grateful for him each and every day.
