Epcot with the Boys

Welcome back to Taylor Talks!

Today I spent the day with my dad and my brother at Epcot!

I finally got to show my dad where I work, because back in February when the rest of the family went to Disney, my dad had been working and couldn't come with us. It was great to show him my location and introduce him to a few of the Cast Members with whom I work.

It was kind of weird being there just the three of us. I mean, we don't have to plan these huge family vacations to Disney anymore, which means that we don't all need to be there at the same time. My sister and I went together back when we met up with friends from New York. Now I was able to spend time with my dad and my brother. And then my little sisters don't know it yet, but my mom and I are taking them to Magic Kingdom one day next week when their friend from New York is down and she and her mom will be coming with us.

It's very strange not having such a large group of people going all of the time, but it's also awesome because then we can just focus on what we want to do throughout the day and not need to come to a huge consensus about everything. Today, I let my dad and brother decide what we were doing (after visiting my work location, of course), since I had just gone to Epcot with my sister. The two of them picked the rides that they wanted to go on, and we got Fast Passes whenever possible, and we absolutely did exactly what they wanted to do today. When we go to Magic Kingdom, it'll be nice to let the three little girls decide what we're doing, and not need to worry about if my brother and sister are getting to do what they're interested in as well. Everyone has their time to have individualized fun now.

I was glad that we went to Epcot today because the Flower and Garden Festival is almost over, and I didn't get to see everything that was showcased the last time I went to the Park. Today, we got to walk around more of the World Showcase and see the rest of the plant decorations that I had missed last time. They really are gorgeous!

To top off the day, I was even able to get myself a MagicBand, something that the rest of my family had already received after they got their annual passes. I was so excited to find a Tinkerbell MagicBand, and my only regret was not buying it until we were leaving the Park, because I didn't actually get to wear it today. It's so cute though, and I can't wait to use it when we go to Magic Kingdom! Tinkerbell is my favorite Disney character, and aside from the new MagicBand, I also have an entirely Tink themed car, among other things.

It was really great to have a day with just my dad and my brother, and I hope that we'll get to have more days like that in the future. I feel like my brother is finally starting to mature a little, and it was great to have real conversations with him today.

Your continued support means the world to me. From foster care to novels, and family to work experiences, I look forward to sharing more of my life with you each day. Don't hesitate to share your own stories with me or ask me questions about my life. Please don't forget to like and share my Facebook author page as well!

I’d greatly appreciate it if you would share this blog with friends and family through your favorite social media sites. If you’re sharing on Twitter, don’t forget to tag me (@TayTayK02) and use the hashtag #TaylorTalks.

    About

    Picture
My family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.

I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life.

I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day.

I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well. Find my children's books on Amazon and keep following my blog for updates on future books that I'll be releasing!
