Today was a very special day in our family... My mom's birthday!
Today was a very special day in our family... My mom's birthday!
We started out the morning with the kids giving my mom gifts that they had picked out especially for her at the dollar store. This included a princess bouncy ball ("For Mommy to play ball with me..." -- yeah right), candy, and decorative birds (which the twins then raced around the house with as they yelled "Tweet, tweet."). Only my sister picked out things that my mom could actually use, but it was cute anyway.
We then spent the afternoon and evening with extended family at the house of one of my mom's cousins. It was great to get together with everyone again on a more happy note. We even celebrated my mom and one of her cousins (whose birthday is on Monday), as well as Mother's Day, with two cakes that I had baked last night. That was actually the whole reason for my friend and I hanging out yesterday; he was helping me bake at his house so my mom wouldn't know about it!
So a very happy birthday shoutout goes to my amazing mother, a woman who has gone above and beyond to make the world a better place! I don't know what I would do without her... She is my biggest supporter and my most helpful critic. She helps to make me better in everything that I do. I love you Mommy!!
