It was so nice to get some much-needed sleep and time at home today!
It was also nice to catch up on what's been going on around the house while I've been at work. I feel like after a few days of nonstop working, I've missed out on a lot at home. The twins especially like to tell me about whatever excitement they've had, and it's always great to get my fill of hugs in!
Both of the girls have been working on reading more lately. Twin A has a tutor this summer to help her catch up a little, because she couldn't hear her teacher last year. That resulted in being unable to keep up with the reading because she couldn't hear the different sounds. With her hearing aids now, she's able to start picking up on how to sound out sight words and begin to read.
Twin B is astonishing all of us with her reading skills. She's reading above the level that my mom thought she would be reading at, basically jumping two levels since the end of the school year. Even Twin A was impressed with her reading skills last night, according to my mom. It's kind of nice that Twin B can read to Twin A though, and I'm hoping that the same will be true of the opposite soon as well.
Between reading, sign language, and swimming, my little sisters sure are learning a lot this summer! They've been hard at work at home, and I can't believe how far they're coming. It's crazy to think that they were born so prematurely and faced so many struggles at the beginning of life, because they've overcome all obstacles with ease. I'm impressed by them constantly. That's one of the perks of having such a big age difference between us... I get to appreciate all that they do.
