Welcome back to Taylor Talks!

I'm so excited to say that we have officially shipped Christmas cookies! We didn't have too many people to actually ship to, but I just feel so relieved that they're being sent out and they'll actually get to where they need to be in time to be enjoyed before Christmas.

I was amazed at how many goodies I could fit inside of each container, and I think that it will be a nice surprise for the people who will be receiving them in the mail. The only people who know who the cookie recipients will be are my mom, me, my sister, and the guy at the UPS store!

It's shocking that there are only two weeks left until Christmas. I mean, I was actually just talking to my mom this morning about how quickly time has been passing lately. One of my really good friends from college is in her senior year now, and every once in a while throughout the semester I would check in with her and see how classes were going. It seems like only last week that she was studying for midterms, and now she's already counting down to the end of the semester next week! I said to my mom earlier that I couldn't believe how quickly this semester went by; if only semesters had passed this quickly when I was the one in school!

With only two weeks until Christmas, a lot of companies are beginning their countdowns to let customers know how much longer they have to order items and receive them in time for the holiday. I know that there's still some time left to order from Amazon, which means that there is still time to order my book, "A Christmas For Toys." At just $9.50, this book won't break the bank and it will be a keepsake that you and your little ones can read together year after year. Everyone's always talking about how important it is to support small businesses... well, I may not be a small business, but I am an author who is just at the beginning of my career, and I need all of the support I can get. If you don't celebrate Christmas, or you don't have any young kids in your life, you could buy the book and donate it to a library. Just think about it... for less than $10 you could be impacting the career of a young author and giving her the boost she needs in order to get on the right path with her writing. I know that at least one of my readers has purchased the book, and I am so appreciative of her (you know who you are... and I'll be contacting you tomorrow in response to your email!).

My mom and I accomplished a lot today in regards to Christmas preparations, but it still seems like there is so much left to do. Unfortunately, down here the kids are off from school the entire week of Christmas, which means that we have to have everything done before then. It's amazing how quickly the holidays creep up on you, even when you've been waiting for the holiday season since the previous December!

Have you finished your holiday shopping and preparations?

Thank you so much for your continued support! I look forward to sharing more stories about my experience with foster care, and hopefully hearing from readers who have questions or similar stories to share. I'm always willing to answer questions and hear about other experiences! Please don't forget to like and share my Facebook author page as well!

I’d greatly appreciate it if you would share this blog with friends and family through your favorite social media sites. If you’re sharing on Twitter, don’t forget to tag me (@TayTayK02) and use the hashtag #TaylorTalks.

Thanks!
Taylor

    About

    Picture
My family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.

I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life.

I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day.

I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well. Find my children's books on Amazon and keep following my blog for updates on future books that I'll be releasing!
