Life as a Writer, Disney World Cast Member, and
Big Sister through Foster Care & Adoption
Welcome back to Taylor Talks! Tomorrow, I'm really excited to start sign language lessons with a new group of students! It's been a little while since I've started with new students, and I'm looking forward to the new classes. My biggest problem has been that I've been trying to find a new venue to hold classes. My limited knowledge of the area means that I don't know a lot about places where I can have large groups come for classes each week. But in the meantime, I've been looking into teaching smaller groups at different locations, which is what I'm starting again tomorrow.
Teaching sign language has been absolutely amazing since I started holding classes last August. It combines my love of teaching and ASL, while also giving me the opportunity to use my signing skills and meet new people at the same time. I would really love to find a venue to hold larger classes in so that I could teach classes more often. I feel like I never really have a reason to sign, so these classes give me the perfect excuse. I miss being in my own sign language classes at school, because I was able to sign at least twice a week for over an hour with peers. Teaching classes now gives me a chance to use those skills again, which is really fun. I'm looking forward to meeting my new students tomorrow. This is going to be a small group, but hopefully it'll be a fun group to work with. I still get a little bit nervous meeting new people, but going into something as a teacher gives me a bit more confidence. I'm excited for the new class, and hopefully I'll be starting up other new classes in the near future. Your continued support means the world to me. From foster care to novels, and family to work experiences, I look forward to sharing more of my life with you each day. Don't hesitate to share your own stories with me or ask me questions about my life. Please don't forget to like and share my Facebook author page as well! I’d greatly appreciate it if you would share this blog with friends and family through your favorite social media sites. My family has been doing foster care since I was three years old. I'm the only biological child in my family, though I now have five permanent siblings. Having nineteen siblings over the course of my lifetime has been an incredible experience, and I'm hoping that by sharing some of the ups and downs of being the only bio kid in a foster family, other foster families or people looking into doing foster care will be able to learn a bit of what life can be like. I also like to share what life is like on my journey to becoming a published author, as well as where my schooling and career choice are taking me.
