Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Wow, time just seemed to fly by at work today! Before I knew it, the night was already over and it was time to head home!
It was a nice mixture of keeping extremely busy and getting a few minutes of downtime throughout the day today. At one point it was absolutely crazy, but it was a fun crazy because we had enough people working to keep things moving smoothly and no one was getting annoyed at wait times as far as the Guests were concerned. And when a huge downpour started later in the afternoon, we had a bit of downtime because no one was coming in... everyone was hiding out somewhere because the rain was too heavy to venture out through it.
The only bad thing about work days is that I don't really have time to do anything before or after work, which means that I can't get anything else accomplished. I would have loved to write to a few more literary agents today, but there just wasn't any time for that.
The good thing about work days is that I get to interact with some really incredible Guests throughout the day! I met some adorably sweet kids today who just made me smile. One little boy was so proud of himself for turning something in to me that belonged in our "Lost and Found" bin... he was even happier when I thanked him by giving him a Mickey Mouse sticker!
Today, I actually met a man who said that he had grown up in my hometown. When he told me the area that he had lived in, I was able to picture every detail of those roads and the buildings around there. It was really nice to think about the town and truly picture it. Even though I think about my friends and memories of things that happened in my hometown, I have realized that I don't actually just sit there and picture the different parts of town and the roads on which I used to drive. It was nice to picture it today, even if it was just for a couple of minutes.
Now, I'm just hoping that tomorrow goes as smoothly as today did, because I really had a great time today!

My family has been doing foster care since I was three years old. I'm the only biological child in my family, though I now have five permanent siblings. Having nineteen siblings over the course of my lifetime has been an incredible experience, and I'm hoping that by sharing some of the ups and downs of being the only bio kid in a foster family, other foster families or people looking into doing foster care will be able to learn a bit of what life can be like. I also like to share what life is like on my journey to becoming a published author, as well as where my schooling and career choice are taking me.
