Life as a Writer, Disney World Cast Member, and
Big Sister through Foster Care & Adoption
Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Do you ever just feel like you have so much that you want to accomplish in life that you might never accomplish any of it?
When I was little, I wanted to be a doctor, a teacher, and a Rockette. Well I ended up being only five foot tall, so that Rockette thing was out of the picture. I hate science, so the doctor part was out. But since first grade I have been working toward becoming a teacher. In middle school, I started thinking about being a writer, and the thought took a more serious hold when I was a senior in high school. Most recently, baking has become a serious passion in my life, and I would love to end up getting some formal training and having some kind of baking business. But I’m also seriously pursuing my love of learning American Sign Language, and I would love to learn enough to do some kind of interpreting or working with deaf children.
With so many interests, I feel like I’m not devoting myself enough to one particular life goal. It seems weird that I’ll be graduating in May with my degree in education, yet I spend more time thinking about my future possibilities with my other interests. I don’t feel like I’m going to just end up teaching in a classroom and forgetting about my other dreams. There’s just so much that I want to do.
I hope that in time I’ll be able to find a way to combine all of my passions.

My family has been doing foster care since I was three years old. I'm the only biological child in my family, though I now have five permanent siblings. Having nineteen siblings over the course of my lifetime has been an incredible experience, and I'm hoping that by sharing some of the ups and downs of being the only bio kid in a foster family, other foster families or people looking into doing foster care will be able to learn a bit of what life can be like. I also like to share what life is like on my journey to becoming a published author, as well as where my schooling and career choice are taking me.
