Welcome back to Taylor Talks!

My goodness! I was so busy working on another project that I almost forgot to blog tonight! I can't believe it's already 11pm! Where has the day gone?
The three day weekend really messed with all of our heads. In some ways it felt like a Monday, but in other ways it felt like the weekend still. No one wanted to get up for school this morning, even though the twins get up before 4am on a regular basis!

I'm completely exhausted because my mom and I were out of the house all day long. Sure, we were having a good time, but it was still tiring to be out and alert after three days of hanging out at home. We got our nails done (we were overdue for manicures) and finally found an awesome nail salon here. The last place we went to was horrible because they overcharged us and ruined our nails. But the place we found today was great! The people were friendly, they made sure you were happy with everything before you left, and they had awesome candles that made it smell beautifully (and not like nail polish!) in the salon. We also went out to lunch, just the two of us, which was great. We actually had a lot of time to talk today and it was so nice to do something without the rest of the family!

There was no calming down once we got home, because we went straight to pick up the twins on our way back to the house at the end of the day. And of course it's always crazy once the kids are home from school. I kept busy all night with sign language and working on preparing for classes that I'm teaching. I had a class tonight and then I've been working on putting together a website with information for the classes since I'll be starting up another session in October. I've been generating more interest in the classes and I'm really excited because I would love if these picked up momentum and I could continue to start new classes every few weeks. It's a great way for me to practice my signing skills and make some money at the same time.

Oh, and speaking of practicing my signing skills, the real test will come over the weekend! I have a family friend who is deaf, and sometimes we video chat with each other. I haven't signed with her in a while, so it will be interesting to see how much of her signing I can keep up with, and how well I can get my point across to her! Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything from my college classes!

Alright, it's off to bed for me... I can barely stop yawning long enough to check for typos as I finish this post! Good night!

Thank you so much for your continued support! I look forward to sharing more stories about my experience with foster care, and hopefully hearing from readers who have questions or similar stories to share. I'm always willing to answer questions and hear about other experiences! Please don't forget to like and share my
Facebook author page as well!

I’d greatly appreciate it if you would share this blog with friends and family through your favorite social media sites. If you’re sharing on Twitter, don’t forget to tag me (@TayTayK02) and use the hashtag #TaylorTalks.

Thanks!

    About

    Picture
My family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.

I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life.

I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day.

I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well. Find my children's books on Amazon and keep following my blog for updates on future books that I'll be releasing!
