Life as a Writer, Disney World Cast Member, and
Big Sister through Foster Care & Adoption
Welcome back to Taylor Talks! Today had to be one of the longest days of work we had experienced in quite some time, but I was glad that I had some friendly faces with whom to share the day! For some odd reason, it was an extremely slow day for us as far as Guest interaction goes; there was rarely a line of people, we were often standing around waiting for something to do, and the minutes seemed to tick by slower than a snail race.
Though we often wish we had a moment to stop and breathe when it gets crowded and crazy, I'm pretty sure that each one of us would prefer the hustle and bustle to just standing around doing nothing. We like to work and keep busy! Still, at times it can be nice to have a slower-paced day where you can enjoy longer conversations with Guests because you don't have a line of people waiting for you. I'm sure that since we all discussed how slow it was today, this means that tomorrow will be very fast-paced. Actually, for the last forty-five minutes or so of today's work night, after we had been talking about how calm it had been, we suddenly had a lot of action and a lot to do. It sometimes seems as though we jinx ourselves because we'll talk about one thing and suddenly it changes. The nice thing about slower days, even though they seem to drag on forever, is that it gives me time to talk to my fellow Cast Members. I always enjoy a good conversation with the people with whom I work each day, and it's always fun to share a smile or a laugh together. A lot of people at my location are finishing their college programs this week and next week, and it will be sad to see all of them go. I truly have a great time with my fellow Cast Members. I can't wait to meet the newest Cast Members though, and I'm hoping that we'll all get along just as well! Your continued support means the world to me. From foster care to novels, and family to work experiences, I look forward to sharing more of my life with you each day. Don't hesitate to share your own stories with me or ask me questions about my life. Please don't forget to like and share my Facebook author page as well! I’d greatly appreciate it if you would share this blog with friends and family through your favorite social media sites. My family has been doing foster care since I was three years old. I'm the only biological child in my family, though I now have five permanent siblings. Having nineteen siblings over the course of my lifetime has been an incredible experience, and I'm hoping that by sharing some of the ups and downs of being the only bio kid in a foster family, other foster families or people looking into doing foster care will be able to learn a bit of what life can be like. I also like to share what life is like on my journey to becoming a published author, as well as where my schooling and career choice are taking me.
