A Year and a Half

Welcome back to Taylor Talks!

Wow, I can't believe that I've been blogging daily for a year and a half now! Not only that, but I've been here on this website with my direct link to Taylor Talks for an entire year now!

So much has changed since I stopped using my old blogging site and launched here. For starters, I hadn't shared the blog with family and friends prior to last January. I hadn't published my author page on Facebook, and I hadn't told many people that I was writing a novel. I was trying to establish my name as a writer, but I was trying to hide my work from those with whom I had a connection in my daily life. I was afraid of what everyone might think. I worried that they wouldn't like what I had to say, while it didn't matter what strangers online thought.

Yet one day I decided to go forward with my love of writing and put it out there to family and friends. My parents were so supportive of me, and I decided that either my loved ones would support me as well, or they didn't need to look at what I was posting. I may never know who actually reads my posts and who scrolls past them, but I do know that I have many people who care about me and support my writing career... strangers online included!

I've accomplished so much in my writing since I launched on this website as well. I published my first children's book, I've written the majority of my young adult novel, and have written so many blog posts that it's hard to count! I've graduated college, moved to another state, and started working at my favorite place in the world. It's certainly been a busy year! But no matter how busy it becomes, I continue to push myself to post on a daily basis because I believe it helps me to become a stronger writer. Even on the days with short posts, there's always a lesson for me to learn in my writing.

I've also added more topics to my blog posts. While I started Taylor Talks in the hopes of sharing my experiences with foster care and adoption, I've expanded to talk about other experiences in my life, from writing to college to working at Disney. If there's ever a topic you're interested in hearing about, feel free to ask me about my thoughts and I'd be happy to share what I can!

I really couldn't have continued to write daily posts over the past year and half without the help of my readers though. When I look on my website and see how many daily visitors I've received, or how many page views there have been, it makes me feel a great sense of accomplishment. I know that I still have so much room to grow, and I'm no where near being an established writer, but when I look at the website's stats since I launched the new website last January, I'm extremely proud of how far I've been able to share my blog posts.

If you like what you read, I hope that you'll share Taylor Talks with a friend or two. You can always comment on a post here or on social media if you have questions for me, or you can always contact me directly through the website or my author page. It's the support of readers like you that keeps me going and reaching for my dreams, so thank you for clicking my links and reading about my life.

Your continued support means the world to me. From foster care to novels, and family to work experiences, I look forward to sharing more of my life with you each day. Don't hesitate to share your own stories with me or ask me questions about my life. Please don't forget to like and share my Facebook author page as well!

I’d greatly appreciate it if you would share this blog with friends and family through your favorite social media sites. If you’re sharing on Twitter, don’t forget to tag me (@TayTayK02) and use the hashtag #TaylorTalks.

Thanks!
Taylor

    About

    Picture
My family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.

I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life.

I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day.

I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well. Find my children's books on Amazon and keep following my blog for updates on future books that I'll be releasing!
