When you're little, age is such an important part of life. How long do you have until your next birthday? Are you older than your friends? Have you reached any new milestones lately? Is it legal for you to do certain things? Pretty much up through college graduation (or your 21st birthday) your age has a major impact on your life.
I'm actually quite surprised when I realize how old someone is at work, because I forget that I'm one of the youngest Cast Members when we're working side by side. I really enjoy the company of two women who have young children, even though I can't relate to their roles as mothers. Our personalities just work together, and I'm glad to be getting to know them. I've also found myself enjoying the company of one of the newer Cast Members, and we're having a good time working together. I didn't think anything about my growing friendship with her until today, when I realized that both of her daughters are older than I am; it's pretty funny to realize that I'm hanging out and laughing with someone who could actually be my mom!
It doesn't even matter how old anyone is when I figure out that information, because I'm thoroughly enjoying the time we spend together. Yes, I'm one of the youngest Cast Members, but I was also always one of the youngest in my grade at school because of my late birthday. I'm used to being the youngest and the shortest! I'm just so grateful to be working for a company like Disney where people of so many different ages and backgrounds can come together to work, learn, and grow with each other on a daily basis.
Thank you so much for your continued support! I look forward to sharing more stories about my experience with foster care, and hopefully hearing from readers who have questions or similar stories to share. I'm always willing to answer questions and hear about other experiences! Please don't forget to like and share my Facebook author page as well!
