At work today, it was one of those days where nothing quite extraordinary happened, and yet it was a really great day. I was in a genuinely good mood the entire ten and a half hours that I was there.
It's funny to think about how many changes there have been among the Cast Members at my location just since I started in December. The Disney College Program means that people are coming and going as college semesters change, and then there are also internships and people who move from one location to another... Just when you start to feel completely comfortable with your whole team, things begin to shift again.
That's the great thing about working at Disney though... Not only do you get to meet so many new people on a daily basis as you interact with Guests, but you get to meet new Cast Members and form new bonds as well. Plus, the odds are pretty good that you'll get along with the majority of the people you work with, because you all have a love of Disney in common and you're Cast Members because you enjoy helping people, smiling, and laughing. Obviously you're not going to be best friends with every person you work with, but at least the work relationships aren't too bad most of the time.
Days like today, I just wish that I could hit the pause button and enjoy life as it is for just a little longer. I was with a good team today, I met some really nice Guests, I wasn't tired all day, and everyone was in a great mood. It can't get much better than that, right? I'm so glad that I have a job that I love, at which I'm excited to arrive each morning, and that gives me the opportunity to meet people from so many places around the world. I love being a Cast Member!
