Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
My goodness! It seems like every time I write about how awesome a day at work was, the next day is chaos! Fun chaos that keeps me from standing around bored, but chaos nonetheless.
My goodness! It seems like every time I write about how awesome a day at work was, the next day is chaos! Fun chaos that keeps me from standing around bored, but chaos nonetheless.
I was on closing duties two days in a row, which has never happened before, so I'm a bit worn out now. Still, even while tired and stressed out today, I loved it all! I don't necessarily wish that all days kept me as busy as today did, but I definitely prefer the hustle to lack of work, and I had quite a few laughs with fellow Cast Members over the course of the day. That's really what makes the day fly by, even when you're getting tired: the company of the people with whom you work.
Do you want to know what really stinks though? My shoes. Okay, okay, not literally (although I certainly wouldn't recommend smelling them after I finish an almost eleven hour shift)! But my shoes are totally broken, and that stinks figuratively. I can actually put my fingers through my shoes from the inside to the outside. Time for new ones! The nice thing is that I can go get replacement shoes from Costuming. The bad thing is that this means I'll have to break in new shoes again. Oh well.
The other good news that comes from a trip to the Costume department is that I'm making a trip to Epcot out of it. My dad still hasn't seen my work location, since he had to work when the rest of my family spent a day at the Parks back in February. So I'll just come down with him, and maybe my brother, stop to get new shoes, and then go to the Park with them. That works for me!
Before I can focus on that, though, I have to focus on all of my siblings tomorrow. It's the last day of school! I can't believe that they've already completed a full year of school down here in Florida! I continue to say that we "just" moved down here, because it truly doesn't seem like July was that long ago. And yet my siblings are ready to move on and move up in school already. It feels kind of weird because back home in New York, school doesn't end until the second to last week of June. We're down here celebrating the fact that the school year is ending tomorrow, and everyone in New York is just gearing up for the last month filled with tests and final projects, and cleaning out lockers or cubbies isn't quite on anyone's to do list yet.
Well I should start heading home... It's an exciting day tomorrow, and I'd like to actually be awake enough to share in my siblings' joy!
