Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
As I was sitting here thinking about my blog, and how to spread the word about it, I started to think about all of the different topics that I want to explore throughout my blog. I realized that not everything that I want to write about will be suitable for younger children to read. While I don’t think that any young children will just happen to find my blog, I want to make it clear that should parents want to share my thoughts with their young children, they should be sure to read over my entire post first. I believe that most of the information I write about will be fine for any age to read, but there are some topics that are geared toward readers who are least in their freshman year of high school. If anyone has concerns about the material discussed in my blog, please feel free to use the Contact page to write to me before reading my posts. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
The first thing that I thought I should do, before blogging about all of my experiences with foster care, would be to explain what certain terms mean. Words that are part of my everyday vocabulary are often things that people have never heard of before. Here’s a list of the foster care terms I think you should know for the future, along with my personal definitions of them… Welcome to Taylor Talks! My name is Taylor Faith Krigsman, and I'm very excited to be starting this new blog.
First, I'd like to introduce myself. You can certainly get a quick synopsis of who I am on the "About Taylor" page, but here's a little more information... I'm twenty years old, my favorite color is purple (as if you couldn't tell!), and I'm from a small town in NY. I will be starting my senior year of college next month. I major in Early Childhood/Childhood Education with a concentration in English. I also minor in Deaf Studies. I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember, and look forward to continuing on to get my Master's in Special Education. I also look forward to achieving my goal of becoming a published author someday. I currently run a business called Taylor's Tales, in which I write personalized children's books. Between writing these stories and now starting this blog, I'm hoping that I will gain some writing experience that can help me in writing future books. |
AboutMy family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.
I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life. I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day. I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well. Find my children's books on Amazon and keep following my blog for updates on future books that I'll be releasing! Archives
