It was my first time closing without any help tonight, and I actually accomplished everything in a timely manner!
I feel like I learned so much today, as this was my first day of work after the holiday rush. I had more time to ask questions and clarify tasks. I even felt like I learned a little more about the people I'm working with. It was great to close on a night like this because I had plenty of opportunities to double-check my work.
It was also really nice to be able to read a book today! The one thing, or should I say the five things, I really wanted for Christmas were books by one of my favorite authors, Sarah Dessen. I've read her books in the past after getting them from the library, but I haven't read every book and I only owned two of them. So I was thrilled to get these books for Christmas, but I kept forgetting to put one in my bag to read during breaks at work. I finally remembered this morning and it was great to dive into it during lunch. Within the first few pages I remembered why I love Sarah Dessen's work, and I found myself trying to learn from her in order to improve my own craft. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more of the book over the next few days... I just hope I can pace myself so I'm not finished in less than two days!
Well, it's after 11pm and I have yet to leave the parking lot at work. I better be on my way home so I can get some sleep before I work again tomorrow!
Thank you so much for your continued support! I look forward to sharing more stories about my experience with foster care, and hopefully hearing from readers who have questions or similar stories to share. I'm always willing to answer questions and hear about other experiences! Please don't forget to like and share my Facebook author page as well!
