Goodbye 2015

Welcome back to Taylor Talks!

It's the last day of 2015! I can hardly believe that the whole year has passed already!
I'm so lucky to be spending New Year's Eve at Disney World, but I'm going to be here all night and won't have time to post later. I didn't want to miss the opportunity to wish each and every one of my readers the best for the new year!

This past year I have experienced some of the biggest changes of my life. College graduation, moving out of the only home I had ever known, moving to Florida, and starting this incredible new job,,, there have been plenty of bumps along the way, but I don't think that there was anything I could have done differently.

The one thing I'm bummed about is that I didn't quite accomplish my 2015 resolution: to finish my novel by 2016. But just at the end I got so weighed down with work, and the move over the summer took a lot of time... I also didn't have a ton of time to work on it throughout my senior year. That being said though, I'm very happy with how much I accomplished in my book, and I know that I'll be able to finish writing this first draft within the next month or two.

I also had never imagined going into 2015 that I would finish the year as an actual author. I'm so proud of myself for publishing my first children's book, and I look forward to writing more for kids in the next year. I've also been able to grow my audience here at Taylor Talks and on my author page, which has been really wonderful. I hope to be able to grow my writing's reach even more as 2016 progresses.

I wish there was a better way for me to express my gratitude for all of the support I've received this year, but saying thank you will have to be enough. I truly appreciate each and every 'like,' comment, question, book order, and share that I've received over the past year. I hope that 2016 can only get better!

Happy New Year to you all, and I'll write to you again next year!

Thank you so much for your continued support! I look forward to sharing more stories about my experience with foster care, and hopefully hearing from readers who have questions or similar stories to share. I'm always willing to answer questions and hear about other experiences! Please don't forget to like and share my Facebook author page as well!

I’d greatly appreciate it if you would share this blog with friends and family through your favorite social media sites. If you’re sharing on Twitter, don’t forget to tag me (@TayTayK02) and use the hashtag #TaylorTalks.

Thanks!
Taylor

Isn't it wonderful to be able to connect with someone from the home town area?? This summer some missionaries arrived in my little town to do some work on local houses. One group was from my own home town 300 miles away and I hugged as many as I could even though I didn't know them. We talked about do you know this person or that person trying to find a connection (and we did). It was so wonderful so I can only imagine how you must have felt being so far away from your home town and to have all of the USA who might arrive at Disney World, but of all the people in the whole place, you were able to connect with each other so you could go down memory lane. God is good! I hope you have a wonderful and blessed New Year. Ironically as you talk about your writing, I too have made it my goal to work on my novel. I love the original writing of it, but get bogged down in going back and editing, adding, rearranging. I've let it set about six months and now I feel very re-energized to go back and work on it. Will keep you posted about it, and I hope you do the same on your blog!

Pam, I've been able to meet two other families since this day who came from right near my hometown... it has been amazing to connect with them each time! It's so funny how seeing someone from your area can brighten your day. These Guests were just as thrilled to see my hometown displayed on my name tag as I was to hear where they came from!

I wish you the best of luck with your novel and I do hope that you'll keep me posted with how much progress you've made on it... I know how difficult it can be to deal with writer's block and pouring your heart and soul into a piece of writing, so I hope that it works out well for you!

    About

    Picture
My family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.

I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life.

I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day.

I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well. Find my children's books on Amazon and keep following my blog for updates on future books that I'll be releasing!
