After my amazing day at work yesterday, I could just feel it this morning... something was going to go wrong.
When I first arrived at work, a whole bunch of stuff had been moved around and was no longer in the spot where it usually was. It confused all of the members of my team and threw us off for the beginning of the day. That meant that we had a bit of a slow start, but luckily it wasn't too busy for us today so it didn't put us far behind. On top of that, a few of us seemed to have butter fingers, dropping things left and right throughout the day (nothing breakable though, luckily). The longer the day went on, the sillier we seemed to become. Everything was funny to some of us by the time we were finishing up tonight.
I learned a lot about one of my managers during some down time tonight, which was really awesome. He told me about where in Disney he used to work, and we came to the realization that I may have seen him when my parents and I took our very first Disney trip back in December 1999. So now I'm planning on looking back through pictures and home movies of that trip to try to figure out if he was working on the day that we were in that particular location. How weird would that be if I actually saw him sixteen years ago, back before I even thought becoming a Cast Member was a possibility for me? I mean, I was only six back then... that would be crazy if he ended up being in an old photo or something. I love having the opportunity to speak with my fellow Cast Members on a more personal basis and getting to know them more.
In other work related news, I realized today that I'm now in my sixth month of being a Cast Member! I can't believe that I started so long ago, on December 1st. I remember thinking that I just wanted to get my foot in the door at Disney wherever possible, and I figured that as soon as my six months were up, and I was allowed to transfer to another position, I would do so. But now, I absolutely love my location and the people with whom I'm working, and I couldn't imagine leaving anytime soon! It's such a fantastic job!
