Life as a Writer, Disney World Cast Member, and
Big Sister through Foster Care & Adoption
Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
After the day we had yesterday, I was in an amazing mood all day at work today.
Alright, so it's Disney, and I'm always in an amazing mood when I'm at work, but today it felt like I was overly joyful. Plus, work went incredibly smoothly today, so that added to my awesome mood. There were no problems, barely any upset children, we never got really backed up with long lines, and the whole team was really on point.
I had wonderful conversations with Guests today. I got along fabulously with a fellow Cast Member with whom I had an issue a couple of weeks ago. I even got to help make a little bit of Magic today and make a few Guests' day a little brighter.
The only way that my day could have been any better would have been if I knew that I could sleep tomorrow... as much as I love work, it really wears me out sometimes. It seems as though for quite a few weeks now I've been working every other day, and suddenly this week and next week I'm working back to back days instead. This means that I'm going to be exhausted tomorrow, but I'm hopeful that the day will go just as well as today did and that will make up for the sleep deprivation.
I think that I was also just mentally exhausted from all of the different emotions we experienced yesterday. From the high of feeling such relief that my sister will finally get the help that she needs, to the low of feeling like we should have known something was wrong, and everything in between, there was quite the swing of moods yesterday. But I think that my whole family will agree that we're excited for what the future holds for my sister and we can't wait to see how the hearing aids will help her!
Alright, I better get as much sleep as I possibly can get... It's off to bed for me!

My family has been doing foster care since I was three years old. I'm the only biological child in my family, though I now have five permanent siblings. Having nineteen siblings over the course of my lifetime has been an incredible experience, and I'm hoping that by sharing some of the ups and downs of being the only bio kid in a foster family, other foster families or people looking into doing foster care will be able to learn a bit of what life can be like. I also like to share what life is like on my journey to becoming a published author, as well as where my schooling and career choice are taking me.
