Wow, I can barely type... my fingers are numb from working on illustrations for my picture book! It's totally worth it though, because the illustrations are all finished!
Now all I have to do is format the book on my computer by putting the illustrations together with the text. Then I'll be able to finish the self-publishing process online and actually create a book! I can't wait to be able to hold the book in my hands, and be able to read it to my little sisters. I've already read the story to my brother and sister, back when I was trying to get them to help me with illustrations, but my little sisters have yet to hear it. The girls have seen the illustrations through each step of the process, eagerly awaiting the finished pages as I colored piece by piece. They're going to be so excited when they wake up tomorrow to find that all of the pictures are finished.
I'm really excited to be able to get my first book out to the public, and more importantly, get my name out there as an author. This is giving me the motivation I need to finish my Young Adult novel, and to get that published through the traditional route. I have all the confidence in the world that my writing will do well if I continue to push myself to work hard and believe in my dreams. I finished my pictures and I can picture my future. This is going to be the start of an incredible career... I can just feel it!
Thank you so much for your continued support! I look forward to sharing more stories about my experience with foster care, and hopefully hearing from readers who have questions or similar stories to share. I'm always willing to answer questions and hear about other experiences! Please don't forget to like and share my Facebook author page as well!
