Can I talk about anything other than my picture book? I'm so excited about the progress with this book that I feel like it's taking up my entire life!
The good news is that since I've been too dizzy to do much else besides sit at my desk, I've been able to complete a large portion of the preparations for self-publishing. As I mentioned yesterday, I had finished all of the illustrations, but I had no idea how much work it would take to format the book on the computer. I've never tried to put together a book on the computer before, and it's not just a matter of copying and pasting pictures and words. I have a new respect for people who are actually in the publishing industry and have to format books all of the time.
I think that I'm just about finished with the formatting finally, which means that I'll be able to move on to the next step with the self-publishing. There's a ton of steps to the process online, and I'm not even halfway through all of them. But I'm looking at it like that old saying, "Slow and steady wins the race." I don't need to finish quickly (though I would really like to of course), as long as I do everything correctly and make it look good.
Hopefully within the next few days I'll be able to share the finished product with everyone!
Thank you so much for your continued support! I look forward to sharing more stories about my experience with foster care, and hopefully hearing from readers who have questions or similar stories to share. I'm always willing to answer questions and hear about other experiences! Please don't forget to like and share my Facebook author page as well!
I’d greatly appreciate it if you would share this blog with friends and family through your favorite social media sites. If you’re sharing on Twitter, don’t forget to tag me (@TayTayK02) and use the hashtag #TaylorTalks.
