Today was certainly a day full of preparations. Between finishing up all of the cupcakes for everyone's Valentine's parties and getting ready to be observed by my supervisor for the first time in student teaching tomorrow, I've been keeping busy all day. Plus, my mom had her hands full tonight trying to get my little sisters to write out their Valentine's cards (because yes, don't judge, we're one of those houses that unfortunately leaves a lot to the last minute... you know that you do it too!).
Cupcakes are also cooling for my class and are ready to be decorated tomorrow. For some reason, the school I'm student teaching in doesn't have off on Friday like my home district. Oh well, at least that gives me an extra day to prepare! I'm hoping to make some brownies tomorrow night as well! We'll see how that goes, depending on how quickly my parents get annoyed with me being in the kitchen (which I guess depends on if I actually clean up after myself!). Oh, and I can't forget that tomorrow is TGIT (if you don't know what that means, you're missing out... seriously. Check out Shondaland shows: Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, and How To Get Away With Murder every Thursday night!)... I can't bake in the middle of TGIT, because I need to be focused on the television!
I think I'm completely prepared for my observation tomorrow, so fingers crossed that all goes well. I've been teaching ELA (English Language Arts) for a week and a half now, so I'm comfortable with the kids. We are starting a new unit though, so hopefully all goes well. Like I said, it's going to be my first time being observed by my supervisor, so I just hope that the kids behave and that I don't crack under the pressure. Wish me luck!
Sorry for all of the rambling on this week... I'll have more information about foster care soon!
