Welcome back to Taylor Talks!

I have no time to write tonight... it's an early night for me because I have to get up earlier than usual tomorrow.
I have to go fill out more paperwork for my new job tomorrow! I have to go in person and show proof of who I am, and fill out some information, and I don't even know what else, but I'm so excited! Unfortunately the appointment is pretty early in the morning, so I have to get up before I usually do, but it's definitely worth it.

Today was a pretty exciting day too, though I'm sure tomorrow will be even better. I submitted all of the information I needed in order to self-publish my book this afternoon! I can't believe that this is actually happening... it's crazy! Formatting the book was pretty difficult, but I think I finally figured it all out. The cover actually proved to be more of a pain than the inside pages, but I managed to figure out how to fix all of the problems I was having. Now I just have to wait for my files to be reviewed (everything needs to be checked to make sure it will print properly) and then I'll be able to send it to print!

My best friend is already planning a book tour around the world for me, which is clearly not happening anytime soon, but I really appreciate the support. Although I did have to remind him that even if I do make it big as an author someday, I'm deathly afraid of airplanes so I won't be going anywhere outside of the continental U.S.! Still, it's exciting to think about the path that I'm starting on as I publish this first book. I always felt like self-publishing wasn't as big of a deal, but this feels like a huge milestone for me. Self-publishing this book was definitely a good idea, and though I hope to go the traditional publishing route with my YA novel, I'm confident that this first book will help to get my name out there and establish me as a serious author.

Now it's off to bed for me... hopefully I'll be able to fall asleep with all of the butterflies in my stomach! It's not even an interview tomorrow and I'm still so nervous and excited! The night before my interview I barely slept at all, so let's hope tonight is better! It's amazing that my Disney career and my writing career are taking off at the same time!

Thank you so much for your continued support! I look forward to sharing more stories about my experience with foster care, and hopefully hearing from readers who have questions or similar stories to share. I'm always willing to answer questions and hear about other experiences! Please don't forget to like and share my Facebook author page as well!

I’d greatly appreciate it if you would share this blog with friends and family through your favorite social media sites. If you’re sharing on Twitter, don’t forget to tag me (@TayTayK02) and use the hashtag #TaylorTalks.

Thanks!
Taylor

    About

    Picture
My family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.

I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life.

I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day.

I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well. Find my children's books on Amazon and keep following my blog for updates on future books that I'll be releasing!
