Tonight's post is very short because I'm in the midst of preparations for tomorrow's big event: my college graduation!
Tonight's post is very short because I'm in the midst of preparations for tomorrow's big event: my college graduation!
I can't believe the big day is here already!! It seems like just yesterday that I was crying hysterically as I walked my family out of the dorms on my freshman move-in day. Four years have just flown by, and I do have to say that I'm really proud of myself for actually finishing in those four years. It took two summers filled with summer courses to help me stay on track because I've taken education courses, English courses, and courses for my Deaf Studies minor. I was even taking three online courses while we were on a three-week vacation after my sophomore year! But it was all well worth it to be able to say that I came in the same class as I'm leaving!
The only part of the day that will be sad is that I know I'm not getting the one present I really wanted, and that was to have my entire family at the ceremony. Unfortunately, my brother continues to live a life separate from the people who should be the most important to him. There's nothing I can do to change that, so I'll have to just live with the fact that he doesn't care about us and won't be there for the biggest day of my entire life. I'm really glad that I have so many other people who love and support me though, because even family who can't come to the ceremony will be watching the commencement live online.
I can't wait to cross that stage and be able to say that I'm officially a college graduate!
