Life as a Writer, Disney World Cast Member, and
Big Sister through Foster Care & Adoption
Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Today, two really awesome things happened at work, adding to an already great day!
First of all, we've recently welcomed a few new Cast Members to our team. This has been nice for a few reasons, two of which are the fact that I'm no longer even close to being the new girl, and I have a lot of new people to get to know now! Today, I was talking with one of the new ladies during a point in the day when there was absolutely nothing going on. It seems crazy, but yes, there is downtime at Disney every once in a while. So we had the opportunity to speak for a while, and another Cast Member had happened to mention that she had started following my blog. With the topic of my writing out in the open, the new Cast Member with whom I was speaking mentioned that she was a writer as well!
Unfortunately, soon after that we started to get busy again, so I wasn't able to get much information from her. But I'm excited to get to know her more and ask her about what kind of writing she does. I don't really know anyone else who loves writing, so it would be nice to talk about our shared interest during down time. Today was actually the first time that the two of us had an opportunity to speak for any length of time, but so far she seems like someone with whom I'm really going to get along.
The other fun thing that happened today was Pin Trading! I've mentioned before that I love Pin Trading with Guests, but I haven't actually been able to do so quite often. Most times I'm not in a position that allows me the time to Pin Trade, since we have three different jobs that we go between on my team. Today though, I had Guests come up to me and ask if we had Pin Trading at our location. When I pulled out all of our Pins, these Guests were extremely excited, as they had a very large Pin collection. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and I loved speaking with them for quite a few minutes as they looked over the Pins.
While we were Pin Trading, another group of Guests actually asked us about the concept, as they had never taken part in Pin Trading before. I liked being able to share my knowledge and have a nice conversation with all of the Guests, especially since we weren't busy at that point so I could focus all of my attention on them. I've said it before and I'll say it again... Guest interaction is my absolute favorite part of working at Disney World. Even for just a few brief moments, when I'm able to share a smile or make a Guest's day just a little more Magical, it really makes me love my job that much more.
Your continued support means the world to me. From foster care to novels, and family to work experiences, I look forward to sharing more of my life with you each day. Don't hesitate to share your own stories with me or ask me questions about my life. Please don't forget to like and share my Facebook author page as well!

My family has been doing foster care since I was three years old. I'm the only biological child in my family, though I now have five permanent siblings. Having nineteen siblings over the course of my lifetime has been an incredible experience, and I'm hoping that by sharing some of the ups and downs of being the only bio kid in a foster family, other foster families or people looking into doing foster care will be able to learn a bit of what life can be like. I also like to share what life is like on my journey to becoming a published author, as well as where my schooling and career choice are taking me.
