The theme of today is exhaustion. Total, utter, complete exhaustion. Getting home after midnight last night because of the show meant that I got a little over six hours of sleep last night before getting up for student teaching today. Being in a zombie-like state all day has reminded me of what life was like for my mom when my twin sisters were infants.

Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
There was excitement all over today, as it was a really big (and very long) day for me! It was my first day of student teaching, and it was also the night that we FINALLY got to see Aladdin on Broadway!! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Tomorrow is the beginning of the end for me… the first day of the last semester of college. I cannot believe it. Part of me is completely prepared and ready to go, and part of me is in denial that it’s really my last semester. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Remember how excited I was in yesterday’s post? Well today, I’m just about the opposite!! We didn’t get to go to the show! I’m so upset and angry about it, that it’s kind of funny in a way! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Tonight I am too excited to think about anything else… tomorrow, I’m going to see Aladdin on Broadway! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Sometimes when I’m thinking about what topics to cover in upcoming posts, I’ll start thinking about all of the major things that we’ve gone through concerning foster care over the years. Tonight, I happened to think about adoption; specifically, how the adoption process begins. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Tonight, I had the opportunity to go visit my friend’s house (the one who I wrote about back in the post, “Welcome to the Club”), and see her little brothers. One of those little brothers, who is just two, was placed with her family last month and is their first foster child. While I was at her house, I got to talk to her and her parents about how much this little boy has grown over the month he’s been with them. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
How many of you have a big age gap between you and your siblings? In many large families, there can be a pretty big gap between the oldest and youngest children. In my family, there are exactly sixteen years between my youngest sisters and myself. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
I know that my readers range in age, but no matter how old you are, I’m sure you can think back to a time when you couldn’t wait to show off to your friends about something. Most cases that I can think about when you want to show off to your friends are in high school, when you want everyone to be jealous of you. You want to look good in front of others, appear to be cool. Well it happens as an adult too, I’m sure. What about when you get engaged? Don’t you want to run to your friends and tell them every single detail? Or at any age of your life, if you get a new puppy, the first thing you want to do is show everyone a picture and get feedback about how cute your new fur-baby is. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Tonight I wanted to talk about the phone call that starts each of our adventures: the call asking, “Can you take a child?” |
AboutMy family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.
I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life. I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day. I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well. Find my children's books on Amazon and keep following my blog for updates on future books that I'll be releasing! Archives
