Life as a Writer, Disney World Cast Member, and
Big Sister through Foster Care & Adoption
Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Why go shopping on Black Friday when you can go to the beach?! That's right, for the first time in my life, we went to the beach the day after Thanksgiving, and it was absolutely beautiful out!
We never go shopping on Black Friday, so my mom figured we should check out one of the local beaches instead. Luckily, it wasn't crowded (I guess because everyone else was shopping), so we had a really nice time. We didn't really go swimming in the ocean, but we got our feet wet... actually, we got soaked up to our knees. We took tons of pictures, and my sisters played in the sand.
It was crazy to be hanging out at the beach at the end of November, when back in New York we would have been bundled up in the cold. In fact, last year at this time, it had already snowed and I have pictures of my sisters playing in it the week of Thanksgiving. I think the beach is a much better place to take pictures than our snowy deck!
I wanted to share some of the pictures I took today, so I put together a little slideshow for everyone to enjoy. Hopefully if you're in the cold right now, you can warm up with some of these sunny shots!
Hopefully anyone who went shopping today was safe and made out well with the sales... Remember that the experiences you have are going to mean more than the things that you buy when you remember this time years from now! But if you'd like to combine buying something with a great experience, then remember you can buy my book, "A Christmas For Toys," on Amazon, and enjoy some quality time reading with your little ones!
Thank you so much for your continued support! I look forward to sharing more stories about my experience with foster care, and hopefully hearing from readers who have questions or similar stories to share. I'm always willing to answer questions and hear about other experiences! Please don't forget to like and share my Facebook author page as well!
I’d greatly appreciate it if you would share this blog with friends and family through your favorite social media sites. If you’re sharing on Twitter, don’t forget to tag me (@TayTayK02) and use the hashtag #TaylorTalks.
My family has been doing foster care since I was three years old. I'm the only biological child in my family, though I now have five permanent siblings. Having nineteen siblings over the course of my lifetime has been an incredible experience, and I'm hoping that by sharing some of the ups and downs of being the only bio kid in a foster family, other foster families or people looking into doing foster care will be able to learn a bit of what life can be like. I also like to share what life is like on my journey to becoming a published author, as well as where my schooling and career choice are taking me.
