I was so busy with an egg-stra special project that I almost forgot to check the time and blog tonight! With 36 eggs, there's a lot to do tonight!
My dad took the kids with him to the grocery store today for some last minute shopping, and the twins came home with a beautiful bouquet of flowers that they had picked out for my mom. It was so cute to see them walk into the house holding the flowers together and sneaking into the living room to show my mom. Then my mom put the flowers out on the counter, and I thought that she had such a great idea to display them that I had to post a picture. She put a bunch of plastic Easter eggs in a bucket with the flowers, and it really looks awesome. I don't think the picture even does it justice, but the whole piece really pops on the counter, and it's a great additional decoration for tomorrow.
Speaking of decorations, we had been telling the kids that we couldn't find any of our Easter decorations so we hadn't decorated yet. They thought that everything had been misplaced in the move. What they didn't know was that my mom had the bucket of decorations hidden away, and we actually decorated after everyone went to sleep tonight. They're going to wake up to a totally transformed house!
I'm sure that it's going to be a very early morning tomorrow, but the excitement is sure to last all day long. Let's just hope the egg hunt continues for most of that time as well! It's amazing how much time can be put into preparation for a holiday and how quickly the holiday festivities are over. I think that it's going to be a really nice Easter though, so I'm looking forward to enjoying the day with the family (and the mashed potatoes... I love the mashed potatoes!).
