Happy Easter everyone! It was our first Easter celebration here in Florida, and it couldn't have been nicer!
The Easter baskets were a huge hit, and the kids had a sugar rush all day long. In addition to the candy, they got puzzles, a baseball set, and books, just to name a few things.
After all of the morning excitement, my mom broke the news of the big surprise: our cousins were coming over! Alright, so it actually was only a surprise for the twins; everyone else knew ahead of time because we don't explode with glee after finding out good news. It was a good thing we didn't tell the girls until this morning though, because then we only had a few hours of, "How much longer?" before our family arrived.
It was great having our cousins here, because it was their first Easter in Florida as well. It was nice to spend the holiday all together, and the kids all love each other so much. Dinner was fantastic (and boy, did I do a great job with the mashed potatoes, if I do say so myself!)... there were barely any leftovers!
The conversation was great for the adults, and we loved catching up with each other. The kids even went in the pool for quite a while, though it was a bit too chilly for those of us old enough to care about pool temperature. It was really just an overall fantastic day, and it ended with a nice round of pie, ice cream, and (you guessed it) candy for dessert.
Now tomorrow is back to reality as Spring Break is over and we have to get back in the school routine... I may not have to actually go to school, but I do have to get up and help with the morning routine. They should really give you the Monday after Easter off from school to pig out on more candy before you go back!
