Alright, so earlier I had a plan for what I wanted to write about. To be quite honest, I can't for the life of me remember what that was. Instead, I have something else to write about that I hadn't expected earlier...
I, Taylor Faith Krigsman, have written a novel!
I was writing tonight and I was so excited when I finished the chapter that I had been working on the past few days, the penultimate chapter of the novel. I ran out to the living room to tell my parents, and then went back into my bedroom to tell my sister. Everyone was so excited and I was thrilled that I had come so far.
Then everyone started going to bed. I helped with my little sisters' bedtime routines, and went back to the computer. Then my sister said she was going to bed, so she turned off the light and got into bed right next to my desk. I apologized to her, but said that I wanted to keep writing and I would turn down the brightness on my computer. She was fine with it, so she just rolled over and I continued with my work.
Suddenly, two hours had passed and I realized that I didn't have much more to write. My eyes were starting to bug out, and I was getting tired, and even my dad had gone to bed already, but I pushed on. And suddenly, at 11:30pm, I had written the very last word of my book. That was it. I was finished!
I am so shocked that I wrote an entire chapter tonight. It actually ended up being a little shorter than some of the other chapters, but it had everything that it needed in there. It was perfect; there was nothing else for me to add. I was completely done.
For two years and five months I have been writing this novel. I have struggled through writer's block, and I've had to ignore the book for a while when school consumed my life. I started writing at college, continued at home, and finished in an entirely new house in a whole new state. I went from junior year to senior year to Disney Cast Member. I got a new little sister and then saw her leave our house. I had arguments with friends and made up, only to grow closer. My life has changed so much since I first started this book that I can't believe how far I've come.
I wrote a novel.
I wrote a novel.
I wrote a novel.
I wrote a novel.
And now the whole process starts all over again when I begin to edit and revise... but still.... I wrote a novel!
