A big milestone is coming up in the Krigsman household. It's pretty much all that's been on my mind lately, so I thought that I would talk about it here.
I was thinking about when we first got down here and how crazy it was trying to put everything away in the house. We had all camped out on air mattresses at first and slept in the living room together. My mom had to put signs up all over the house so the twins would remember where each of the bedrooms were located. We had no television or internet hooked up for what felt like forever, so we relied on old home movies to keep us entertained when we weren't unpacking. I actually really liked sitting around with the home movies though... it was great to reminisce.
Driving around town this week, I've been remember how lost I felt when we first got down here. Everything seemed like it was an hour from the house because I had no idea where anything actually was or how the roads came together. Now, I know the difference between the twelve grocery stores and pharmacies in the area and I know multiple routes to the mall.
I still miss New York like crazy. I miss texting a friend when I want a buddy to run to Walmart with me. I miss going to our favorite ice cream place (which, by the way, had way better ice cream than the places down here... still a sore subject for me haha; I miss my ice cream!). I miss the library and the schools and parts of daily life that I took for granted before moving away.
I can't believe that we've been living down here for almost two years now. I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for us.
