Today was such an awesome day at work! It was especially magical for me!
Today was such an awesome day at work! It was especially magical for me!
First of all, I knew it was going to be a good day because I was working with a great group of people today. A friend of mine had been out on medical leave for a while, so it's been nice to work with her again over the past couple of weeks. She actually knows sign language as well, and she got to tell me a whole story in ASL today. She's much better than I am at signing because she's used it on a more frequent basis for longer than I have, but I was excited that I could keep up with her today.
Now onto the real magic... I got to be part of a special surprise for Guests today! It was such an amazing moment to be part of and I was so thankful that they had included me in the fun. A family didn't know that two of their other family members had flown down to meet them here. The two who wanted to shock everyone asked me if they could go up to their family's table and surprise them. I videotaped the exchange and their family members had the absolute best reactions to seeing them. I was even included in the end of the video as a thank you for helping them. It was so sweet and I was so glad that I got to be part of that moment!
Later, when I was helping another family, I got my own sweet surprise. I don't know if anyone has heard about this, but there are many Guests who visit the Disney Parks and give small notes of appreciation to Cast Members. I've heard of this before, but have never seen this happen in person. Well today, not only did I see a family giving out thank you notes, but I was actually on the receiving end! It was so nice to be given a little note to thank me for addi to this family's magical vacation. It felt so good to be appreciated in this small way!
I hope that tomorrow will be just as awesome as today was... I have a lot going on tomorrow, but it excited for the day! I look forward to sharing some big news tomorrow night as well!
