Today was another really productive day for me in the writing department... I sent out more query letters to agents!
The one thing that I haven't done in a while is sit down to just write. Not write a letter, or write a blog post, but just write. I haven't worked on any books in a few weeks, and I wish I could start writing again. I kind of feel like I'm in a slump, but I'm sure that it will end soon. I know that I always have these ups and downs, writing nonstop or not writing at all. I'm sure that when inspiration suddenly strikes again, nothing will stand in my way of accomplishing a lot on whatever book I'm working on.
The only other exciting thing that happened today was that the power went out right in the middle of us all eating dinner. We were sitting around the table enjoying good food and conversation, and suddenly the lights flickered and went out. We have no idea what happened, but the power was out for what felt like forever. We ended up all going swimming to pass the time and stay cool. It was actually kind of a fun way to spend the night, because normally we wouldn't go swimming after dinner. It was really nice to have the whole family in the pool together.
What a day it was... sometimes the most basic of days stick with me as being just wonderful. Sure, I accomplished a lot, and our night was pretty unusual, but overall it was just a regular summer day. I like these days the most though, when we can just all hang out together, with no one arguing or getting too cranky, and just enjoy each other's company.
