You'll have to excuse me if I'm not writing much tonight... I'm exhausted, and I've written more today than I have in a long time. I was able to accomplish so much in my novel today!
After writing a mere four sentences or so since before we left New York, I was able to write more than three pages today, which felt like a huge accomplishment. The whole plot line for this chapter unfolded in my mind more quickly than I could type. I actually felt like I was forgetting to put dialogue in the writing because I couldn't type fast enough to get all of my ideas down.
I have so much that I want to do with my novel; topics that I want to cover, dialogue that I want to include, situations that I want to put my characters in. Sometimes I can't believe how much I've already written. I look at the document open on my computer and stare at how slim the scroll bar has become... it's barely a slit. Then I think about how far I still have to go. I'm well beyond the halfway point of my book, but I still have so much that I want to put in there.
It's amazing to think that someday I will be submitting this novel to a literary agent. Pieces may be edited and revised again, and then one day I will get my manuscript in front of a publishing company. Within a few years, my gigantic document will hopefully be sitting on the shelves of bookstores all over the country. That would be a dream come true. That dream is what pushes me to continue writing and thinking up new ideas, even when I feel like I have nothing left to write.
Everyone needs to find that inspiration in them to follow through on their dreams. Reach for the stars... you can accomplish anything you set your mind to!
Thank you so much for your continued support! I look forward to sharing more stories about my experience with foster care, and hopefully hearing from readers who have questions or similar stories to share. I'm always willing to answer questions and hear about other experiences! Please don't forget to like and share my Facebook author page as well!
