Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
When you're growing up in a family where children are always coming and going, you're always watching kids grow up beginning at different times. You miss out on the beginning of lives, or you only see the first few months of a baby's start in the world. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Today was a long, exhausting day for me. I was out of the house at 7am and on my way up to my college campus. From 8am to 3pm, I was part of a "Success Camp" which was basically working with my peers on this semester-long practical exam that we need to complete in order to become certified to teach. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
I'm sitting here making some progress on tons and tons of work for becoming a certified teacher, and I'm at the point where my mind has started to wander. I've been sitting in the same spot for hours and need to do anything other than this homework. I started thinking about a conversation that I've had quite a few times with people in the past, and I thought I would share it here today. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I hope that you've all had an enjoyable day with loved ones, whether they be your significant other, children, siblings, or parents! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
It's finally the end of the week but there's no slowing down for me anytime soon. I need to work on school-related projects all weekend, and I don't even get a day off on Monday. Instead, I have to be up at my campus at 8:00am and be part of a full day workshop until 3:00pm. Sheesh! At least I can sleep past 6:30am tomorrow! I'm so tired that I feel like I can just collapse at any minute! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Well it looks like it's night three of going to bed way too late, but there's nothing much I can do about that. The good news is that I'm all prepared for our Valentine's Day party tomorrow, and my little sisters were extremely happy with their cupcakes for their parties today. I'm exhausted, but totally ready to party tomorrow afternoon! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Today was certainly a day full of preparations. Between finishing up all of the cupcakes for everyone's Valentine's parties and getting ready to be observed by my supervisor for the first time in student teaching tomorrow, I've been keeping busy all day. Plus, my mom had her hands full tonight trying to get my little sisters to write out their Valentine's cards (because yes, don't judge, we're one of those houses that unfortunately leaves a lot to the last minute... you know that you do it too!). Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Well it's 11pm, and I know that as soon as my mom sees that I'm posting this late, she's going to question me on why I wasn't sleeping already. I have to get up so early for student teaching that I usually go to bed by 10pm every night. It's crazy! But tonight I had to finish taking cupcakes out of the oven and then was catching up with a friend, so I'm okay with being tired tomorrow. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Do you ever want something so badly that you can't think about anything else? That's how I'm feeling tonight. I've been sitting here working on my novel for a while, and not only have I finished editing all five chapters that I had already written, but I had a sudden inspiration for the last chapter and how I want the book to end, so I started writing that. I feel like I'm in the zone tonight, and I just can't wait to be able to finish this novel. |
AboutMy family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.
I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life. I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day. I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well. Find my children's books on Amazon and keep following my blog for updates on future books that I'll be releasing! Archives
