Have you ever met someone and instantly bonded with them? I felt like that today. My aunt's best friend lives only fifteen minutes away from us here in Florida, and she came over to visit for the first time today. I actually met her for the first time at my aunt's funeral, but I was only four years old and I don't remember that. Today, it was so great to get to talk to her, and hear stories from when she, my mom, and my aunt were younger. I'm excited to have a relationship with her now that we're living in such close proximity, because not only was she a lot of fun to hang out with today, but I feel like I'll hear so many more stories about my aunt when she and my mom get together. I feel like I already bonded with her today, and I know that my mom was so excited to see her again. They kept calling each other sisters and saying how great it was to be living near family; it was really nice to experience that.

Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
It's hard to believe that the first week of school is almost over, but here we are on Thursday night with only one more school day until the weekend. Somehow, it seems like this week just flew by... then again, I did sleep in a lot the past three days. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
I'd like to start off tonight by recognizing a special day in our family - my aunt's birthday. My mom's sister passed away when I was four years old after being directly hit in a car accident. Our lives changed completely once she was gone, and nothing has been the same since that devastating day. On her birthday, I like to remember the four years I had with her, and this year especially I can picture her more clearly since we watched those old home movies just weeks ago. Well, I was correct in my assumption that I would sleep the day away! After waking up early to watch the girls while my mom made a bus stop run, I barely stayed awake long enough to say good-bye to the younger kids. Then I crawled back to bed and slept for what felt like forever. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
The 2015-2016 school year has officially started for the Krigsman family! My siblings went to their new schools for the first time today, and it was a big adjustment for everyone. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
I finally got to video chat with my best friend!! Here's another wonderful shout out to SPC, because we have been trying to video chat for weeks and it just hasn't been working out. I miss my best friend! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
I don't know about you, but I've always been the weird kid who absolutely loves school. No, I mean it... like my mom could never get a nice 'last day of school' picture because I always came off of the bus crying that the school year was over. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
There was so much going on today! My mom went out with my brother and sister to take care of some last minute things before school starts on Monday, while I stayed home with the twins. I had promised them that we would bake cookies last night, after I found a new recipe that they could eat (I just had to switch out the butter for a dairy-free version), but Twin B fell asleep before we even ate dinner last night. Unfortunately, that meant that Twin A had to wait to bake until today. But luckily, being home alone with the two of them gave us the perfect opportunity to whip up some Jell-o Cookies! For those of you wondering, yes, I am still the color of a lobster. Today was not fun with all of the pain in my shoulders and arms, but luckily I have an awesome mom and sister who are taking really good care of me. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
You know how Florida is considered the Sunshine State? Oh boy, did I realize the true meaning of that nickname today! |
AboutMy family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.
I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life. I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day. I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well. Find my children's books on Amazon and keep following my blog for updates on future books that I'll be releasing! Archives
