Well it's 11pm, and I know that as soon as my mom sees that I'm posting this late, she's going to question me on why I wasn't sleeping already. I have to get up so early for student teaching that I usually go to bed by 10pm every night. It's crazy! But tonight I had to finish taking cupcakes out of the oven and then was catching up with a friend, so I'm okay with being tired tomorrow.

Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
It’s the start of a new day, a new month, a new year, and a new life! Happy New Year everyone! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
I’d like to start off with an update… after a temperature of 104.2 at 2am, my little sister seems like she’s now on the road to recovery. Both twins appear to be happier today and have been drinking plenty of fluids, and they even played together for a little while today. I’m feeling much better too, though my mom and I are still a bit sleep-deprived after being up at 2am trying to give my little sister a cold bath to bring down the fever. My mom continues to do medications for both girls every few hours, so I don’t know when she’ll be able to get a full night’s sleep. But here’s hoping that the start of the new year will bring better health for everyone! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Merry Christmas everyone! It has been a wonderful day here at our house, and I hope it has been the same for all of you! We were very lucky today… we didn’t need to take my sister to the hospital, thank goodness! She’s had a fever on and off, and she still has a cough, but the medicine is working beautifully and she was absolutely fine today. My mom is taking her back to the doctor tomorrow morning to follow-up and see if there’s anything else that we need to do for her, but as of right now, she’s doing well. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
It’s Christmas Eve, and that means that there’s a lot to do for Santa’s big arrival tonight. As Number One Elf in the family, I have a very important job helping to make Christmas special each year, and this year more than ever. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
First off, Happy Hanukkah! It’s the last night of the holiday, and I hope everyone has had a wonderful celebration! Tonight, I thought I would share a very special memory from when my brother first came to live with us. He came when he was four years old, and he arrived just days before Christmas. Like a special Christmas present. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Today was a celebration of Hanukkah & Christmas… A festival of lights all around. Normally, we don’t hang lights around our house for Christmas. It has just never worked out for us. My dad used to try to hang them when I was little, but the lights would stop working or something, and it would be pointless. This year, I decided that I was going to put lights up no matter what. I figured, hey, I’m 21 and I can do this! [Here's where you can picture me pumping myself up like a boxer before his match!] So I went out and bought some lights without telling my parents and started putting them up around our front stairs. Figured I’d start with something easy that I could reach… I’m only 5′ tall, so that was definitely going to be my disadvantage in this venture… Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Well, I made it… I got each and every one of my many projects completed on time this week. I had so many projects going on that I was hiding them from my mom for as long as possible, because she was having anxiety about me finishing everything. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
It’s Wednesday, which means I only have one more day of finals left! Thank goodness! My 2-hour final last night ended up running 2 hours and 45 minutes. It was ridiculous. Tonight’s final wasn’t as bad, and I was able to finish in an hour. Tomorrow, I just have to write an essay on a story that we’re supposedly being emailed tonight. The problem is that it’s already after 11pm and no one in my class has received the story yet. Our professor won’t email anyone back, and no one knows what’s going on. It’s crazy. I just can’t wait for finals week to be over already. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
I’d like to start off by wishing everyone a Happy Hanukkah! Although tonight was the first night of the Festival of Lights, today began my annual baking spree for a different holiday… It’s time to make Christmas cookies! |
