The other night, I talked about the fact that I had found one of my former foster sisters online and sent her a message. Well quite to my surprise, I heard back from her yesterday.

Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Today is a special day on which we remember my grandpa: his birthday. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
My goodness! I was so busy working on another project that I almost forgot to blog tonight! I can't believe it's already 11pm! Where has the day gone? Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Do you watch reality television? I'm a reality addict, and my love of reality shows (more specifically, reality competitions) is something that I share with my mom. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
"Isn't it hard to say good-bye?" That's one of the first questions I always receive when people find out that my family does foster care. "Do you ever keep in touch with your foster siblings?" That's one of the next questions that I am always asked. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Today was a day that my little sisters had been looking forward to since last weekend... cupcake baking day! Welcome back to Taylor Talks! My mom is still going through old paperwork, and one of today's finds was so funny that I had to share here... Please, take a look at the note for yourself. I had to take a picture because my mom and I couldn't believe that she had actually written this note to herself. We don't have any idea what this note means, but it's an odd one. Why would there be orange kangaroos in Denmark? Why did my mom need to remember that there weren't any orange kangaroos in Denmark? Sometimes going through old belongings just leaves you super confused, but at least it's fun to get a laugh once in a while! Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
With all of the unpacking we've been doing since moving into our new house, we sometimes come across old stuff that brings back memories. Today, my mom was going through a ton of old paperwork, and she happened to find some papers related to foster care. One paper in particular caught my attention and reminded me of a foster sister who once lived with us. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
When was the last time you had to look for a job? Did you go through tons of openings and apply anywhere you thought you could work, or did you just apply to one or two dream jobs? I'm currently going through the struggle of finding a job, and I haven't been through this in a while. Welcome back to Taylor Talks!
Do you ever have the opportunity to see your hard work paying off right in front of you? Tonight, I was lucky enough to see the fruits of my labor paying off, and it was incredible. |
AboutMy family started doing foster care when I was three years old. We took in nineteen children over the course of eighteen years, with our last placement leaving in December 2014. I'm the only biological child in my family, though my parents adopted five of my siblings.
I love to share my perspective on the foster care system and share how my unique upbringing shaped my life. I'm also a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and lover of all things Disney! My career allows me the opportunity to find a little bit of Magic in life every day. I enjoy sharing my journey as a writer as well. Find my children's books on Amazon and keep following my blog for updates on future books that I'll be releasing! Archives
